Lunar Spiced Herbal Milk Latte Recipe

Lunar Spiced Herbal Milk Latte Recipe

When this time of year rolls in, I look forward to adding pumpkin spice and holiday peppermint notes to everything. And as the sun sets earlier (daylight savings ending surprises me every year!). Sometimes, we just want something perfectly warming, spiced, and frothy, without the added caffeine.

My afternoon steeps used to be limited to chai, until I tried a non-caffeinated peppermint tea steeped in honey & soy milk from Sacramento-based Temple Coffee. It opened my mind to other possibilities for stovetop, non-caffeinated steeps: chamomile tea with oat milk and brown sugar, turmeric lattes with a sprinkle of pumpkin spice, or peach tea with soy milk and honey.

We created a Lunar Spiced Herbal Latte recipe that’s perfect to sip before bed. The Chamomile Tea and Wild Cinnamon Latte in this recipe mingle together to create a caffeine-free, gentle, and aromatic experience.

Lunar Spiced Herbal Latte Recipe:

Makes 1 serving

  • Steep 4g Chamomile Tea in 4 fl-oz of water at 185° F for 2 mins and strain
  • Steam 1 cup of whole milk or plant-based milk
  • Add 2 fl-oz of the chamomile tea to 4 fl-oz steamed milk
  •  Stir in 1 teaspoon Wild Cinnamon Latte
  •  Gently sweeten with honey and enjoy!

What makes this latte helpful for sleep?

With longer nights during winter, you would think it's possible to get better sleep. The elephant in the room, though: regardless of the season, good, quality sleep is hard to come by. Women are especially susceptible to developing sleep disorders, navigating anything from insomnia to hot flashes. Check out the sleep-friendly ingredients in this Lunar Latte Recipe.

  • Chamomila Tea: can promote relaxation & may have sedative effects
  • Ashwaghanda: can increase the time spent in restful sleep
  • Cinnamon: can help with digestion and improve sleep quality
