Tea Type

Whole leaf black tea

This special Assam Tippy Reserve was chosen by us because it is a premium Assam whole leaf black tea that is unique and marvelous. It has a rich mouthfeel, with natural aromas and flavors reminiscent of a fine brandy, intermingled with notes of honey, malt, cacao, oak and fruits. It is well-balanced, making it an extremely smooth tea that can be had as a morning or afternoon cuppa. Definitely one of our favorites and excellent!

Dry leaves

Long dark chocolate rolled leaves with golden buds with cacao, honey, grass and floral aromas.

Wet leaves

Coppery leaves with sweet aromas of honey, black currant, wine, freshly baked dinner rolls and chocolate chip cookies.

Tea liquor

Translucent with an amber color and a sweet malty aroma. The tea is medium-full bodied with a rich mouthfeel, mineral texture, mainly sweet, with a mild sour and bitter taste, minimal astringency and a lasting aftertaste. Beautiful notes of brandy, honey, malt, oak, raisin and stone fruits, cacao and smoke are experienced throughout the cup.

Assam

Origin

Where your tea comes from

Golden-green rice fields, thick forests, manicured tea estates surrounded by blue hills, green valleys, and a red river, Assam is the largest Northeastern state in India. Situated just below the eastern Himalayan foothills, it stretches along the Brahmaputra River. This tea comes from the Sivasagar district from a tea garden by the banks of the river Teok. The name 'Teok' means – 'The place of milk and ghee' in Tai.
